Our Ethos

Handmade. No really. Everything you purchase off Shop Sewn is truly handmade, by myself or one of our talented stitchers. We are a women led, women run brand and keeping production small helps us reduce waste and helps you purchase with a clear conscience.

Ethical. We only produce enough of a product that we know will sell, so we don’t usually run sales as we don’t have a lot of extra inventory laying around. What I’m saying is that we really care about Mother Earth and by wearing Sewn you’re caring about her too. That also means that we don’t carry our styles for too long, once they’re gone, they’re gone forever - but don’t be too sad, something new will always take its place.

Sheer. Almost all of our pieces are sheer and for good reason - we believe that your body is the truly beautiful thing and we want our pieces to only enhance it (and maybe even help you see yourself in a new way). Soft lace and sheer materials so your skin will always shine through.

Fair. Unlike traditional retail who can mark their products up to 10x the cost of production, we believe our customers have the right to ethically, well made pieces for reasonable prices. We charge what’s fair, and if the cost of materials goes down, we reflect that in our pricing too.

So that’s it, we’re transparent and radical all at the same time. Each stitch is made with you in mind and every time you purchase a Sewn piece you’re making a huge impact on a little known Canadian brand, so thank YOU for that.
